We have introduced our first Hybrid vehicle to our fleet being a Ford plugin hybrid van. Please see our LinkedIn Page for photographs including our ‘driving new energy forward’ logo. With zero emission, driving 30 miles in full electric mode when operating in and around the London Ultra Low Emission Zone this van also has the added benefit of a clean petrol engine for longer journeys. We look forward to reducing our vehicle emissions and carbon footprint even more as we continue our journey on extending our fleet with hybrid/fully electric vehicles .

As part of our successful Refcom Elite registration renewal last month, we also completed our BESCA Building Services Competent Assessment.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we were asked to provide video evidence of our technical services. Our Managing Director Matt Newing was joined by his daughter Amy, who is currently studying Business and Photography A-Levels, to plan and film our submission.
The feedback from BESCA was fantastic with the quality of our internal documentation being highlighted and that our video audit was one of the most detailed and best they have seen.
We would like to thank our client at More London Place for permission to use our recently completed air conditioning installation and all of the team at JDS for the hard work in maintaining our Refcom Elite status.

JD Services HVAC Ltd celebrates 20 years in business in March 2019. Matt Newing, the company’s founder and Managing Director, said: “We are proud to have reached this milestone. Thank you to the many clients who are a valued part of our company’s growth and success. We look forward to our continued partnership and the opportunity to serve you for decades to come.”
Matt also thanked the JDS team. “JDS is known for its people: their knowledge, experience and integrity. Because of our people, we will continue to grow and be recognised as a leader in building services, offering innovative solutions in an ever-changing industry and delivering our corporate mission to provide engineering excellence. Seeing staff progress and watching the success of our office and engineering apprentices is an exciting reminder that our business is in good shape as we set out on the next 20 years.”
When JDS started in 1999, Matt was its only employee. He worked from home as a mobile air conditioning service contractor and the business turned over £50,000 in its first year of trading. The company’s first direct client was Regus St Albans where Matt met his future wife and JDS Company Director, Kim.
Fast forward 20 years and a lot has changed. Today, the company employs 50 people, has offices in Dartford and Manchester, delivers contracts to hundreds of clients, and offers a complete building services maintenance solution. Turnover in the last financial year was over £4 million.
While the size of the business has changed, the core approach hasn’t. Matt said: “We’ve always had an engineer-led approach that is focused on delivering compliant and cost-effective solutions. It’s served us well, as has our integrity and commitment to customer service.”
Operations Manager Claire Moroney added: “I joined JDS in 2004 and from the outset it was clear that the main focus of the company was to provide exemplary customer service. Over the years the company has grown and we have expanded the range of services we provide but we have never lost sight of this goal. I am proud to have been part of this flourishing business and look forward to an exciting future.”
JDS will be celebrating its milestone anniversary throughout 2019 with events to thank employees, suppliers and clients for the vital role they have played in the company’s success.
